Getting to South Station in Boston

South Station is centrally located in Boston on 700 Atlantic Avenue in a beautiful historic building dating back to 1899. Thanks to its near waterfront location, South Station is a short distance from numerous Airbnbs, hotels, and accommodations in the city center, so you won’t have to travel far to embark on your day trip.

South Station is equipped with bicycle racks, wheelchair-accessible platforms, elevators, and escalators, making it easily navigable for all who use it.

Lines Departing from Boston’s South Station

The lines departing from the South Station will take you to a number of attractive locations just outside the city. Forming part of the Commuter Rail System, you can see the entire route from the South Station on the MBTA.com/massbytrain website.

The main lines from South Station include Fairmount, Framingham/Worcester, Franklin/Foxboro, Greenbush, Kingston, Middleborough/Lakeville, Needham, and Providence/Stoughton Lines.
